I’m a huge lover ofThe Bachelorand that franchise, however, we were one of the first shows to actually tell real stories about ordinary Americans and their love journeys. Also, this show is about this journey with other cultures. When we launched this show in 2014, we were on the ‘love frontier’ of this whole new era of finding people all over the world.”
He continued: “This isthe most diverse show on television,” Sharp asserted. “You can challenge me on it. We featured people from 51 countries at this point. We have subtitles. We have people that don’t speak the same language and have completely different cultures. We’re trying to tell unique stories every time and when we’re in the casting process we’re evaluating people based on their personalities, backgrounds and their stories, but also we just want to tell unique, fresh, interesting stories.”
He also explained that the show has no say on the visa process or anything like that. “This is an authentic process,” he explains. “We make a point of having an arm’s length with that process. We’ll check in and say, ‘How’s it going?’ Are there people that we have said, ‘Wouldn’t it be great for the show?” and then a fiancé went through the visa process and they got denied and we didn’t feature them? Of course.”

In the Tell All episode, Mike had Debbie serve Natalia divorce papers. “This has been coming for years,” Mike said as his fellow cast members were criticizing his decision. “It’s not cruel on my part. We got married on national TV,” he said. Natalia immediately went in to sign for the papers, adding “I just ask [for] my snowboard and my stuff.”
Another point of tension was when Natalia asked Mike to start a family with her right after her split with Josh. “I was just shocked because we’re absolutely not together,” he said. “Why am I going to donate my sperm knowing that I have a kid with her and we’re not together? Like, that’s not what I wanted. I’ve always just wanted a family.”

Sara Rose isn’t a stranger to Mike’s fans as he’s posted several Instagram pictures and posts of his new girlfriend, but this is the first time he’s mentioned her by name. In one post, he captioned, “Blessed by the god of the universe for this one of a kind person means the world to me.” A recent post of Mike’s included a video of his girlfriend, “Missing my sugar so much I love you baby always♾️🍉❤️😘”
Mike confessed that he couldn’t move on after Natalie until the divorce was finalized. Despite the divorce ball rolling, Mike doesn’t plan to marry Sara Rose that quickly. “No, it’s too early to think about marriage,” he replied when Shaun asked. Though, the two plan to move in together.
Why did Mike and Natalie break up?
Mike and Natalie broke up because they were incompatible from the get go. The two had different dreams and she didn’t want to live in Washington with him. The two decided to get married so that Natalie wouldn’t be deported back to Ukraine. Natalie quickly moved on with an on-and-off relationship with Josh.
“She left and she’s still not happy,” Mike said in an episode. “Natalie doesn’t know what she wants at the end of the day. She just wants to hit the finish line with everything. This is where she wanted to be…dreams don’t always turn out the way they want.”
At one instance, she wanted to reconcile. “Michael, I love you,” she said at the time. “I could move back.”
He replied, “At the end of the day, you made your bed. You went out and wanted to follow your dreams, and you did. It just cost us.”
