This vegan In-N-Out sauce is a plant-based copy cat recipe to make your Animal Style fries and burgers next level good, this recipe is dairy free and plant-based.
This sauce is great for loading on a veggie burger piled high with grilled onions, or as a dipping sauce for your well done fries.
I’m not a big fast food person, but when I moved to California I would go to In N Out every chance I could! I took every opportunity (within my tight grad student budget) to save up and splurge on a really good quality burger & fries… and I always loved the sweet and tangy sauce.
So, naturally, I had to make my own vegan In N Out sauce for BBQ veggie burgers and crispy oven baked fries. When I moved from California to the east coast a few years back I really missed my In N Out, so this is my attempt on bringing a little bit of Cali to New England.

What’s In This Dairy Free In-N-Out Sauce without Mayo?
I get fresh produce from my garden and from Misfits Market– they sell fantastic fruit, vegetables, & pantry staples at a discounted price. We get Misfit boxes every other week and love picking out favorite produce for delivery. Get $10 off your first box here!
- Silken Tofu
- Ketchup – I like this Annie’s Organic Ketchup for a better option with really great flavor!
- Dill Relish – a great dill relish is perfect in this sauce, sweet relish makes this a little too sweet (trust me, I tried it!). So make sure you use dill relish and not one with loads of sugar or sweeteners.
- Yellow Mustard
- Apple Cider Vinegar, which gives this dressing a little extra tang which is really fantastic! I love using this organic apple cider vinegar with the mother which has a great flavor. I think it gives a nice extra sweetness and depth.
- e olive oil which has a fantastic flavor and deep color.
- Agave Syrup: I really like using this raw organic agave syrup because it’s a natural and sustainable sweetener, plus it is inexpensive so I always keep a few of these bottles in my pantry
- Tellicherry Peppercorns: Like the salt, it’s amazing the flavor difference you can get with really good tellicherry black pepper. Amazon has a generic brand tellicherry peppercorn which is the same price is buying pre-ground, and has a million times more flavor… so I use these really great tellicherry peppercorns, which I would definitely recommend.
Note: I made this sauce out of this great silken tofu – BUT I realize tofu isn’t everyone’s jam… so you can substitute the same amount of plant-based mayo instead if you don’t like tofu (also skip the olive oil if you use mayo). But give tofu a try, I promise you will be amazed! It’s low in fat, low in calories, and high in protein… and tastes SO good with the rest of the flavors of this dish.
The Best Blender In N Out Sauce Recipe
The thing I love most about this easy vegan hollandaise sauce is that I can make the entire recipe in the blender. I’ve owned a lot of blenders, butmy Vitamixis definitely the best one I’ve owned. Thishigh-speed blenderwill blend even the toughest of ingredients into pulp. I prefer using my blender to my food processor for sauces like this or homemade hummus, as it’s much easier toclean the Vitamix. This is definitely one kitchen appliance we use on a daily basis!
How Do I Make In-N-Out Sauce Vegan?
- Add all ingredients to a high speed blender. Blend on low and gradually work up to high speed until the sauce is creamy and well combined.
- Add this sauce on top of burgers with grilled onions, loaded fries, or in between a grilled cheese sandwich. Enjoy!
